Randy Buck, age 61, has served in various capacities within the Buck’s organization since 1978. He has most recently served as Executive Vice President for the unfinished furniture retailer. Randy will replace Richard Buck as acting President. Richard Buck will retain his title as Secretary/Treasurer.

Buck’s ownership structure is unique. Ownership is equally divided between Ramon, Richard, Randy, and Roger Buck. As a part of the agreement with their mom, who preceded their ownership, each is required to share the title of President. “We have not found anyone who has an ownership structure quite like ours,” states Randy Buck. “Every five years we each take a turn as President - it’s what our mom thought was the right thing to do.” This will be Randy’s second term as President. Co-owners Ramon, Roger, and Richard Buck have all had two terms as President of Buck’s.

Buck’s business philosophy has a strong family influence. “Since our mother and father started in the furniture retail business almost 44 years ago, we’ve adopted many of their traditions and ideas,” states Randy. “A great example is our observance of Father’s and Mother’s Day. Most retailers are open on these holidays, however, out of respect for our parents, our employees and customers, we are NOT open.” He adds, “No one should have to work that day -especially mom or dad.”

Buck’s features brand name unfinished wood furniture. Brands include Khoury, Woodcraft, Legends, John Greenleaf, Ashley, Whitewood, A&B, Brownwood, Intercon and more.

Buck’s Unpainted Furniture was founded in 1960. It is a Twin Cities based, family owned and operated unfinished and finished furniture retailer. Minnesota store locations include Chanhassen, Bloomington, Minnetonka, St. Paul, and Maplewood, with a 21,000 sq. ft. warehouse and custom wood finishing facility in Bloomington.
